Semiconductor Processing Tech's are responceable for the processing, (or making and testing) of Microchips, such as CPU's (Central Prossesing Unit's, the "brain" of a computer) and other similar prossessing chips. Due to tech being on the rise (like, everyone and their mom has a phone) Being within this field of the tech intistry pays pretty well, but need a lot of training, especially when safety is conserned.
"No, really how would it, Computers and chemicals have nothing to do with each other, right?" you might be asking, or something along those lines. Well, as it happens, Science is VERY inportant when it comes to tech, especially this job. Semiconductor Processing Tech's use both principles of electrical engineering and materials science to go about both testing and fabricating (another word for making) new microchips. Also, in some spisific processes, some chemicals are used as well, so they need to know what they are, and how to handle them.
Before you freak out, I should make it very clear that this job is quite safe (I'll cover why in a moment) but due to the kinds of things done on the job, here are some of the things that a Semiconductor Processing Tech might encounter:
As previously mentioned, Despite the risks, being a Semiconducor Processing Tech is vary safe, and what counts towards that, are the safety precautions. Here are some of the things done to keep the workplace safe:
